Using this site

Circle Acts publishes free research about charities and nonprofits at https://circleacts.org. You may read, link to, print and share it. Please do not scrape the site at a rate that degrades it for other readers, republish whole articles as your own, or use the content to train a commercial model without asking us first.

Our research is not advice

Everything here is general information to help you decide where to give. It is not financial, tax, legal or investment advice, and it is not a recommendation tailored to your circumstances. Tax treatment of donations depends on your own situation and your country's rules. If a donation is large enough to matter to your finances, talk to a qualified adviser.

Accuracy and corrections

Our volunteers research each article using public information available at the time of writing. Charities change: programs close, leadership turns over, registration status lapses, and financial ratios move year to year. An article may be out of date by the time you read it, and the publish date at the top tells you how old it is.

Always confirm an organization's current registration with the relevant regulator before giving a significant amount. If you spot an error, tell us and we will correct it.

Links are not endorsements

Circle Acts is not a charity evaluator. We do not audit finances, rate organizations, or verify that a registration is current. Naming or linking to an organization means we thought it worth telling you about, and nothing more. It is not a guarantee of its conduct, its finances or its results.

Check an organization with its national charity regulator before giving a significant amount. Our editorial policy lists where to do that for each country we cover.

We do not control other websites and we are not responsible for their content, their accuracy or their privacy practices. Once you follow a link you are on someone else's site under their terms.

Donations

Circle Acts does not process donations to the charities we write about. Every link goes directly to the organization, and your money never passes through us. We receive no commission, referral fee or other payment in connection with any donation you make, and we are not party to the transaction.

Contributions to Circle Acts itself go towards the running costs of this site. Circle Acts is a nonprofit, not a registered charity: we cannot issue a tax receipt and a contribution to us is not tax-deductible.

What you send us

If you nominate a charity or send us a message, you confirm the information is accurate as far as you know and that you are entitled to share it. You give us permission to use what you send when we write about that organization. We are not obliged to publish anything, and a nomination is not a promise of coverage.

Articles on this site are © Circle Acts unless stated otherwise. Charity names, logos and trademarks belong to their owners and appear here for identification and reference. Some images are supplied by third parties under their own licences.
