You want to give. We help you find where.
We are passionate people, not experts in everything. A collective of volunteers who write about causes that need people, and about the organizations already working on them. If you want to give and are not sure where to begin, that is the gap we are trying to fill.
Giving is a personal choice
We believe giving comes in many forms and there is not just one way to give to others. We spend our time aggregating information and making sense of the sector in an independent way. Data is powerful, it is free, and it is meant to be shared.
Storytelling is powerful too. Knowing why an organization exists, what its challenges are and where its opportunities lie are all good reasons for giving.
What we cover
Philanthropy education
Most people want to help and stall at the first question: who? We write about what organizations are doing, in plain language, so that question gets easier to answer.
Current charitable causes and events
Needs change. We aggregate information from across the world so you can see which causes are urgent right now and decide where your giving does the most good.
Helping causes tell their own stories
Every organization has a story: who started it, who runs it, who it serves. We tell the stories of the people working to make a difference, and of the people their supporters reach.
Charitable impact data
We believe charity data should be public. We make sense of it and turn it into stories that help supporters make effective choices aligned with their own values.
What we are and are not
We care about this and we do the reading, but nobody here is a charity analyst. We can tell you an organization is real and doing what it says. We cannot tell you its books are sound or its programs work, and we will not pretend to. Our editorial policy sets out exactly where that line sits.
How we are funded
Circle Acts is a nonprofit run 100% by volunteers. There are no paid staff. We do not take a commission and we receive nothing when you give to an organization we write about. Links to charities are provided so you can research and give directly. We are not a registered charity ourselves, so we cannot issue tax receipts.
