What Circle Acts is

Circle Acts is a nonprofit. It is run 100% by volunteers. Nobody here draws a salary. We are simply people who care about charities doing good work and want donors to be able to find them.

We write about causes across five countries and point readers to the organizations working on them. We take no commission and no cut of anything you give them.

Where contributions go

Straight back into the organization. Running this site costs very little: hosting, the domain, and the research tools our volunteers use to check an organization's filings. That is the whole budget. There are no salaries, no offices and no marketing spend.

We are not a registered charity

This matters, so we will say it plainly. Circle Acts is not a registered charity. We cannot issue a tax receipt, and a contribution to us is not tax-deductible. If a tax receipt matters to you, give to one of the registered charities we write about instead.

Better still: give to the charities

If you have money to give and are deciding where it should go, give it to the organizations doing the frontline work, not to us. That is the entire point of this site. Every article links directly to the charity, your money never passes through us, and we are not told whether you gave.

Other ways to help

Money is not the only useful thing, and honestly it is not the most useful thing.

• Suggest a cause you care about. That is how most of our articles start.
• Tell us when we are wrong. Charity information goes stale fast. If a registration has lapsed or a program has closed, let us know and we will correct the article.
• Share an article with someone deciding where to give.
• Volunteer to write. If you can research an organization properly and write clearly, get in touch.
